The salesperson develops and executes sales strategies, plans and budgets to grow accounts, recruit new customers and introduce products and product initiatives within a defined territory to increase company sales and profitability.

Job Duties:

  • Assume overall accountability for revenue, margins, mix and market share objectives
  • Manage and grow existing accounts, identify and develop new customers
  • Promote and support efforts to reach into the plumbing & mechanical engineering community
  • Analyze data for trends and develop and execute “value added” programs
  • Create and implement programs to drive sales and improve margins
  • Communicate effectively with marketing, accounting and other departments
  • Participate in sales meetings and prepare required reports
  • Work collaboratively with wholesale sales directors and vendor representatives
  • Travel within territory to visit accounts
  • Increase knowledge of industry and products as well as management and finance disciplines
  • Negotiate pricing and agreements, resolve conflicts
  • Gather, synopsize and disseminate information concerning general price levels, competitive new product introductions, competitive activity in specific market locations
  • Maintain proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products, company-selected software, contact management and other technologies
  • Maintain excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills
  • Prepare sales budget forecast
  • Attend trade shows and industry functions as determined to be necessary
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Experience:  
    • Minimum 1 year in similar position (4 years preferred)
    • Minimum 3 years in progressive position (4 years preferred)


The inside sales representative will increase sales and customer satisfaction by timely and politely providing both internal and external customers with quotations, answers, specifications and assisting with any questions. Job Duties:

      • Receive calls and offer service or phone quotes to internal and external customers
      • Actively assist internal and external customers by recommending new products or suggesting alternatives
      • Regularly attend sales meetings
      • Attend product knowledge meetings
      • Maintain technical and computer capability to effectively use quotation and submittal builder software, distribution and office software, and other information resources
      • Work with other members of the sales team to identify and meet the needs of customers
      • Deliver timely, well-prepared and professional responses, quotations, and other information as required
      • Obtain and select construction open bid reports for quotation purposes
      • Obtain current costs of products
      • Maintain an orderly quotation file and record of jobs quoted
      • Coordinate the ordering, receiving and delivery of products in a timely manner
      • Follow company policies and procedures
      • Other duties as assigned
